02:46:32CIA-43New commit by kkurbjun (r22615): Fix STRIDE macro for multiscreen and add stride support for picture lib.
02:47:19*kugel isn't really appealed by the STRIDE macro in apps/ code
02:47:43kkurbjunhmm?
02:48:50kugelsaving a parameter might be usefull, but I generally don't like macro'd parameter lists
02:49:02kugel(the reason I hade IF_MV() so much)
02:49:17kugelhate*
02:50:27kkurbjunyeah, I generally don't like macros, but I think this may be the cleanest way to implement it
02:52:24kugelwell, "cleanest" would be to pass both parameter always, but that would be a waste for ALL-1 targets :)
02:53:21kkurbjun:) true, it would make sense to pass both if you have rotation support
02:53:37kkurbjunfor all targets that is
02:53:45kugelI'm only fearing those macros (especially in parameter lists) are discouraging new developers, since it's rather unusual
02:54:27syn4pseabout how many different keypads do you have to configure for with a plugin? i am currently using that pluginlib (not sure what it's called) and i want to do it the right way.
02:54:51kugela lot
02:55:22kugelprobably 25-30
02:55:26kkurbjunI guess should at least add better comments around the macro to explain what it is for

02:55:42kugelSTRIDE is a bad name also, IMO
02:56:03kkurbjunI think stride is pretty common at least with jpeg algorithms
02:56:35kugelI think 95%+ of potential contributors are not familiar with jpeg algorithms
02:56:49kugelI'm not anyway
02:57:29kkurbjunmsdn has a good explanation of it as the first link if you search for image stride on google
02:57:38kugelat least for the screen api, the macro could possibly be avoided
02:59:19kugelthe .XXX part of screen[i].XXX can be preprocessed, can't it?
02:59:55kugelkkurbjun: reading code which forces you to google isn't very inviting

03:01:26kugelwell, I'm just nagging, I don't have real ideas :>
03:02:22kkurbjunit's already called stride in the parameter list, so I think the macro name makes sense - I'm adding a comment to give a brief description around the macro so that someone new could read a little on it to get the idea of what it is.

19:54:11kugelJdGordon: I have a wps which has it's album art at 0,0, but draws it in a conditional viewport. the album art shows twice. a) where it's supposed to be, and b) at 0,8 (statusbar is on)

19:55:50kugelor didn't, rather
19:55:55bertrikkugel, I think the buttons act as a weak pull-down on the DBOP data pins, so in order to read them, you have to put a high level on the DBOP pins, wait a little and check which bits are 0
19:57:16kugelJdGordon: that was build after the sync to your first subline commit, so I suspect r22618.

19:57:39JdGordondoes it happen in svn?
19:58:02bertrikI'm putting a high level on the pins by doing a 0xFFFF write to DBOP_DOUT, while the TIMPOL registers are configured to not generate a write pulse towards the LCD
19:59:01kugelI'd like to use a single variant for reading buttons too on fuze/e200v2

20:01:22kugelJdGordon: yes
20:01:59kugelJdGordon: cabbiev2 doesn't have this problem, so I suspect it's the viewport, or maybe even that it's conditional

20:04:16amiconnThe 1st gen Nano essentially uses CF in a different package, so it uses plain ata

20:11:47*bertrik is slightly worried about the function backlight_hold_changed
20:12:20amiconnI doubt there's a noticeable difference, and then software ftl means developing and debugging an extra module
20:13:16JdGordonyeah, but software issues are much easier fixed...
20:13:33JdGordonand I guess cuts down the package size a tiny bit?

20:14:22amiconnThe standard cards already exist though.
20:14:58bertrikbacklight_hold_changed is called in interrupt context in some button drivers, it can call backlight_on, which means that backlight_on needs to be safe to run in interrupt context
20:15:10kugelit is
20:15:33amiconnbacklight_on just posts to the queue iirc
20:15:43kugelyes

20:17:52bertrikkugel, I'd like to get it working cleanly on the c200v2, I can do a diff a bit later tonight I think
20:18:02amiconnThat's in fact the reason why some queues exist - something needs to react on events originating in interrupt context, but that reaction needs to happen in normal thread context

20:38:10domonokyyes, run qmake in the build dir. qmake automtically adjust the path, but fails for some, which i corrected. and of course the paths in the extra make calls.
20:38:48bluebrotherin fact, you almost can build rbutil out-of-tree. The only problem are those hardcoded paths to the project file and the external make runs
20:38:58domonoky"qmake ..\rbutil\rbutilqt\rbutilqt.pro" and then a make in your build dir.
20:39:53domonokythe patch above works reliably in windows.. and its not much changes. it also works if you still use the rbutilqt folder to build.

20:43:10bluebrotherwell, for the lrelease call we'd better use $_PRO_FILE_ IMO
20:43:15bluebrotheras that is always correct.
20:43:34domonokythe build/* rules need to be modified, because at least on windows qmake fails to not change the path for UI_DIR (then the makefile has the wrong path in the INCLUDEPATH). and so i modified all of them to make sure it always works .

23:50:43bluebrotherwell, statically linking was never required. It's only to not ship the dll files (i.e. have a single binary)
23:51:38bluebrotherGodEater: they started hiding it a bit. Plus, changing their name several times −− from trolltech to qtsoftware, now Nokia ... those managers can't decide *gnah*

23:52:38domonoky1it got better again. its only 2 clicks from the homepage to get the source.
23:52:46GodEateryeah I've found it now
23:52:49GodEaterdownloading
23:53:44domonoky1now we need some perl / buildserver people to modify the buildserver system. any volunteers ? :-)
23:54:25AlexPdomonoky1: If it is just building once a day I imagine it'd be better on the master like the manuals are
23:54:42bluebrotherindeed.
23:54:44rasherSpeaking of the build server, chances of getting checkwps in there?
23:54:52domonoky1AlexP: that wont work, we preverably want it build on lin/win and mac
23:54:53*bluebrother would like to see checkwps in the build table first
23:54:58rasherMaybe as a single target that does all of them
23:55:12gevaertsas soon as the build system supports source tree filters again I don't really see a reason to only build once a day
23:55:21bluebrotherdomonoky1: someone just need to figure out how to crosscompile for windows ...
23:55:22AlexPgevaerts: true

23:55:38gevaertsthat is sort of a prerequisite of course
23:55:41rashergevaerts: source tree filters?
23:56:00AlexPrasher: i.e. don't build Rockbox on manual changes
23:56:04domonoky1bluebrother: crosscompiling on linux for windows wont show the same errors as building nativly on windows i would think.
23:56:05rasherOh ah
23:56:08gevaertsrasher: my obfuscated name for the feature that used to not rebuild things on manual/ changes

23:56:15bluebrotherdomonoky1: why that?
23:56:20AlexPOr in this case rbutil
23:56:58domonoky1different enviroment ? and can you crosscompile for mac ? (with both archs) better let the buildserver handle that with native clients.
23:57:41bluebrotherwell, the environment isn't that different. MinGW emulates a bit of POSIX.
23:58:11AlexPdomonoky1: What do you build it in on Windows? And can the server dial in and request a build then upload it on native Windows?

23:58:30bluebrotherand the usual OS issues come from one OS getting overlooked, not from differences in the host OS itself.
23:58:44domonoky1AlexP: mingw, so i think it should be possible to run the build-client
23:58:47bobruleshello I accidentally turned off backlight. Is there a way to restore backlight?
