01:03:16lehzeniis this a bug or a normal program feature? If my 4th gen ipod is in rockbox mode and I connect it using usb, all is well as long as HID is disabled. But if I connect it using firewire, rockbox reboots itself into ipod mode before making the connection
01:03:51AlexPRockbox doesn't support firewire
01:04:04AlexPSo yeah
01:04:13lehzenishould it care how it's connected?
01:04:17AlexP?

01:04:36lehzenithank you for the answer
01:04:58 Part lehzeni ("au revoir")
01:05:13AlexPYou need drivers for them, and we have usb but not firewire. Nothing other than some ipods use firewire, and most of those have usb, so nobody has bothered with firewire

13:11:00n1sweird, the logs are empty
13:11:26kugeln1s: they are?
13:11:55kugelah logbot went off a few minutes ago
13:12:09n1si clicked on a bunch of the logs from the builds with errors and they are empty
13:12:16n1snot irc logs
13:23:35kugelgevaerts: I can push the patches into my git if you like, however I'm constantly rebasing so you can't really pull
13:24:28kugelwell, actually that's not right. I'm not rebasing on the working branches, but I rebase to prepare the patches
13:25:40kugelbut the working branches contain lots more commits :)
13:26:17JdGordonwhy are you rebasing so often?
13:26:22JdGordonthat sonuds like a broken workflow
13:26:37JdGordonfeel free to say git-svn is causing that though
13:26:52kugelgit-svn is one reason
13:26:52Torneusing rebase to create reviewable patches is not at all a broken workflow
13:27:06Tornenobody cares about your intermediate state
13:27:23JdGordongit diff origin/master > foo.diff then
13:27:33kugelbut since I have 3 branches that work on top of each other, fixing a bug in 1 exposed by 3 (and making the fix available to all) is simpler with rebase
13:28:22JdGordon[Saint]: ping?
13:29:20sideralmay the build errors have something to do with roolku's build clients going offline, as he advised?
13:29:50JdGordonquite probably
13:29:53JdGordongevaerts: ?
13:30:04JdGordonerr s/?/anything you can fix/ ?
13:31:30gevaertsNothing I can fix, and nothing I can even look into
13:31:54gevaertsI can't see anything more than you can
13:32:31JdGordonbut.... but.... :p
13:32:50gevaertskugel: I don't mind reviewing patches on flyspray
13:33:00kugelI pushed them nevertheless :p
13:33:14JdGordonuntill gerrit is up all patches should still be going through flyspray
13:34:11gevaertsJdGordon: they are. This is really about early access if you want it
13:34:41*JdGordon goes back to shutting up
13:36:19God_Eaterthat's unusual
13:36:24God_Eateryou feeling ok Jd? :)
13:40:18kugelsince buffer_alloc() is completely phased out we can consider using buffer_* instead of core_* for the prefix
13:42:03JdGordonsounds good
13:44:49*kugel shouldn't have proposed this as it's going to be a merge/rebase headache
13:44:58kugellater :)

18:51:40Lone_WolfI think I can put in a null for the playlist info since I'm just playing the mp3 in the background, or is the playlist info required?

I've suggested to alternatively explore large fixed-size allocations (regions) that can be further divided by a smaller-scale per-module object allocator (e.g., one for dircache structs) but can only be freed to the system as a whole.
19:31:02sideralamiconn: the tradeoff would have been to not have moving allocations, but to tell clients that their allocations aren't contiguous (if they need more than one region)

19:37:50amiconnAnd it would still not solve the fragmentation problem, only reduce it

23:08:57HaimNJdGordon: Hi, in the tag: %cs there is a bag, the 'system' menu defined as the main menu (1), Also, when you press and hold in the main menu, the menu that opens defined as the main menu (1) too. If you could change it I would appreciate it
23:09:37[Saint]HaimN: that's not a bug.
23:09:59[Saint]both of those screens *are* part of the main menu...
23:11:01[Saint]though, the context menu probably should have its own %cs section. It not having one is not a bug though, its merely inconvenient for you ;)

23:25:25[Saint]I could have a look possibly in the next few hours, but not right now I can't no. Sorry.
23:31:15HaimN[Saint]: I'm sure you have your own life, of course you can't do everything immediately, Thanks anyway!

23:40:12sideralkugel: I have no good intuition on this, yet. I'd expect that the vast majority of search results is already in RAM and does not need to be copied, but I might be wrong.
