00:08:14bertriknice
00:10:21funmanZagor: \o/
00:10:44*jhMikeS does the build server dance
00:10:50funmanhttp://build.rockbox.org/ shows a failed regexp
00:11:09Zagorohh, nice
00:12:32Zagorfixed, but that really is one place where the hash doesn't work very well
00:12:33bertrikkugel, I have the yp-r0 toolchain installed on my desktop and almost on my laptop now

00:14:06Zagorhow long does a hash have to be to be "reasonably unique"?
00:16:14saratogahow many elements are in the set?
00:16:46bertrikkugel, oh ascodec_init has a prototype mismatch between .c and .h for me when compiling yp-r0
00:16:52Zagorsaratoga: ~40k I guess, since that's roughly our number of commits
00:17:16funmanZagor: i think git describe shows 7 digits
00:17:44[Saint]More if it has to iiuc.
00:17:55saratogawell thats 15 bits, so if you want a 1 in a thousand chance of a collision, 25 bits would do
00:18:00funmanit'll be a problem for sure after r268435456
00:18:15[Saint]Haha.
00:18:20Zagorfunman: 8 digits for our trunk: bootloader_fuzeplus_v1-229-g61047e1
00:18:37Zagorwait, g?
00:18:43funmang = git
00:18:48funmanor something
00:18:50Zagorright, 7 then
00:19:32saratoga8 digits will be quite unique
00:20:06saratoga6 might be pushing it if we're going to be around for a while
00:20:16Zagorso it's safe to use 8 for our build clients all all auto scripts?
00:20:21Zagor*and all
00:21:03saratoga8 digits == 32 bits, so 1 in 4 billion chance any two commits match
00:24:41JdGordonZagor: are the steps to bring up a new client the same? just get a new checkout and the build client script?

00:27:39funmanat least binsize delta
00:33:42bertrikfunman, is it a big delta? perhaps it's just the version string that is now a bit bigger
00:34:21Zagorno the delta is not showing on the web page
00:34:52saratogais the eventual plan to have gerrit test build patches posted to it? or is that too dangerous
00:35:38ZagorI don't know if we have discussed that.

00:36:48Zagoryes
00:37:15Zagorbut that will be manually triggered by a dev, so the same as a manual commit/push

06:41:27[Saint]Shit. I don't really have the time to nut this out...I know all of the RaaA Cabbie themes of mine on the tracker show the issue with pressing (and holding) the album art touch area (which launches the WPS hotkey)...the "popup" (context menu, file browser, quick-screen) fires as well.
06:41:58[Saint]I can't immediately see why the test.wps is failing, though.
06:46:36JdGordoni can probably debug it

16:57:35Tornethe unread topics view on the forum is basically unusable :/
16:59:02*gevaerts wonders how this happened
16:59:34gevaertsI worked a bit on the recent posts view, but that should be unrelated...
17:00
17:00:22gevaertshm, right, maybe I need to look at it some more
17:01:02 Part kkit ("awe yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee")
17:01:33Tornegevaerts: there were dozens/hundreds of threads that were either spam or only bumped because of spam, when i looked a couple hours ago
17:01:46Torneand sure, i know they're not really posted onf the forum
17:02:56gevaertsI think the problem is that now the recent posts doesn't show the actual spam posts any more us moderators have become lazy so we don't check the akismet quarantine as often, and the "new" indication still takes posts that are marked as spam into account
17:03:08gevaertsSo the "new" detection needs to be fixed too
17:03:14*gevaerts now deleted 90 spam messages
17:03:27Torneheh
17:04:17gevaertsTorne: just to verify, was everything just messed up, or was actual spam still visible somewhere?
17:04:30*gevaerts wants to know how urgent the problem is :)
17:05:38***Saving seen data "./dancer.seen"
17:06:13Tornegevaerts: No spam visible, no
17:06:22Tornejust the unread view showing them like it always has
17:06:30gevaertsok, that's something at least
17:06:31Torneit's just been an *incredibly* high volume the last couple of days
17:06:53Tornethis morning there were 100+ listed since last night, and since this morning there were another 20 or so :)
17:07:45gevaertsI think this akismet mod basically isn't designed right
17:08:28gevaertsIt works by adding a spam field to the messages table, setting that if akismet says it's spam, and then hiding messages with it set all through the code
17:08:32 Join TheLemonMan [0] (~LemonBoy@ppp-53-58.26-151.libero.it)
17:08:56Tornepresumably that's to make it easier to unmark things as spam?
17:09:17gevaertsI'd say a better design would have been to have a separate quarantine table and to internally re-post things when they appear not to be spam
17:10:19gevaertsThe problem now is that there are things like the topics table having an ID_LAST_MSG field
17:10:30TorneWell, that too :)
17:10:53Tornethe whole "keeping track of unread posts per user" thing in the first place is terrifying
17:10:58Tornelet alone with spam filtering in the mix somewhere
17:11:56gevaertsI can't really think of a sane way to do this that doesn't keep the suspected spam out of the regular structure
17:13:25Tornewell, it's not the end of the world
17:13:36Tornei'm just wondering why it seems to be much worse now
17:14:35gevaertsThe spam thing has been getting a lot worse over the past few weeks in general, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's made worse by us not deleting it as actively
17:14:48TorneOh, i see
17:15:03Torneif someone goes and reviews the akismet stuff and purges them, they don't show up when i look?
17:15:12Torneright :)
17:15:13gevaertsMaybe. I'm not entirely sure
17:16:09gevaertsI'm wondering if we shouldn't just outright reject stuff akismet doesn't like
17:16:29gevaertsWe don't have *that* many false positives
17:16:50gevaertsWe could possibly whitelist people based on group membership even

17:30:25GodEater_I can see the akismet configuration page
17:30:29GodEater_is that the right place to start?
17:30:34gevaertsit is, yes
17:30:51gevaertsThere are two spam messages there right now

17:31:10GodEater_is that right?
17:31:35gevaertsWell, there are also the "not spam" checkboxes, and the "not spam" button at the bottom

17:33:13GodEater_and that fixes "New Topics" does it?
17:33:44*GodEater_ thinks we clearly need some more user training for the forum mods :D
17:33:46gevaertsWell, there's this comment that says "// TODO: Update statistics so they don't go weird"
17:34:23gevaertsSo that's what needs to be done first I think :)
17:34:44*gevaerts is in favour of just not updating the statistics if we suspect it's spam in the first place
17:35:03*GodEater_ favours this too
17:35:53gevaertsThe "easy" solution will make the numbers wrong if we mark a post as not spam, but that's better than what we have now I think
17:36:34gevaertsI think I'm going to work on this akismet mod a bit more during the next few days. There are some things that can be done to make it *much* more usable
