03:16:01[Saint]JdGordon: is there a reason other than overcomplication that submenus aren't configurable?
03:16:21[Saint](thinking from a ML thread)
03:17:56JdGordonother than that, umm.. its pointless
03:18:20JdGordoneverything you'd want from it can be acheived with shortcuts
03:18:31[Saint]My assumption is that it involves a shit-tonne more blocking and/or re-adding integral menu components.
03:18:49[Saint]And, not necessarily.
03:19:23 Join RoC_MasterMind [0] (~Free@c-66-177-177-119.hsd1.fl.comcast.net)
03:19:34[Saint]Id like to get rid of the shortcuts menu personally, then trim down a few menus similar to what I have in my own builds.
03:19:36JdGordonit would be a massive ton of work for very little actual gain
03:19:46JdGordonit comes down to this:
03:20:06 Quit ashi (Quit: Leaving)
03:20:17JdGordon1) if you think the menus are layed out bad you probably should reorder them for how you like it in a custom build (you meaning Random Joe)
03:20:30JdGordon2) if you want to reorder them for fast access to common items then use shortcuts
03:21:38[Saint]1 is usually was beyond Random Joe's ability, though. The people that want minimal menus are those with little to no coding chops whatsoever in my experience.
03:22:06JdGordonif there is enough call for a minimal menu then thats a different story
03:22:08[Saint]So a UI would be nice, preferably in RBUtil.
03:22:20JdGordonassuming that means just removing menu items without reordering
03:24:24*[Saint] actually talked briefly with bluebrother^ yesterday about a configuration editor for RBUtil, I should re-read that to see where it ended.
03:24:50JdGordonthat discussion has happenined a few times
03:25:11JdGordonstep 1: come up with a script to generate settings.ini from settings_list.c
03:25:11[Saint]I _think_ it was "possible, but no sane way to expose the available configuration items per target (as yet)"
03:26:06JdGordonI don't necessarily agree it needs to be target specific, it just needs to be pretty close, we can always hand modify the ini file later
03:28:10[Saint]It'd be nice if it were generated at build time and packaged in rockbox.foo
03:28:49[Saint]Then RBUtil could just grab it from ./rockbox
03:29:23[Saint]And it'd even work (in theory) for custom builds with features chopped out.
03:30:31JdGordonyes
03:34:59[Saint]Though I suppose that's bootloader really needed, as irrelevant configuration items will be ignored and trimmed from the config the next time its saved by the target.
03:35:13[Saint]*not really
03:35:15[Saint]Bah.

16:35:39sc_sorry for not being more clear, it is not the autoplay, which I like. It is a message stating that there could be an error on the device because it could have been removed incorrectly... I guess I will just have it scan and see haha
16:37:07Zagorbleh. it appears transform:rotate() is a browser-specific css extension. there's one each for mozilla, wekbit, opera and ie...
16:38:02Torneoh. Then yes, it's complaining that the filesystem is not marked as clean
16:38:09Tornebecause you didn't unmount it cleanly before removing it
16:38:21Tornethat's normal if that is indeed what you did, and you should scan the filesystem :)
16:38:46Tornewhgich may indeed find things that are corrupt, and remove/alter them, which might look to you like it's broken something :p

I've been told that I would have to let it do this once and then it'll be "happy" and not ask again, haven't tried since though

20:40:43gevaertsIsn't this fuzev2-acts-like-a-brick-after-panic-on-disconnect symptom more or less similar to why USB was disabled on AMSv2 in the first place?
20:41:25saratogaprobably
20:41:57pixelmait was due to being stuck when rebooting into the OF, if I understand the question correctly
20:42:04bertrikWe fixed the unresponsive-after-panic on AMSv2 at some point, it was caused by turning off the ROM clock
20:42:36saratogayeah this is something else
20:42:49saratogamaybe one of the clocks doesn't get reset or something
20:43:20saratogai get occasional crashes on disconnect on amsv2, but they're always just a panic with a short press to reboot
20:43:46saratogaalthough i use a clip+
20:43:47dfkti get either rebootable crashes, or ones that need a hard reset
20:43:54dfktwith both clip+ and zip
20:44:37saratogado we have any idea how the hard reset function actually works?

20:45:56bertrikit's a hardware thing and should always work
20:46:26bertrikalthough I wonder what happens if you configure the power GPIO as output and force it high, could it be that this prevents a hard reset?
20:46:27dfktseems more sophisticated than a reset/breaker hole
20:46:35saratoga_it must depend on some clock though

20:49:19bertrikpossibly, I'll have to look up whether we force anything on the power GPIO
20:49:52bertrikwell in that case, a quick hack would be to disable all interrupts in panic and force the power pin as input
20:51:01saratoga_how much can we do in the panic handler?
20:51:24bluebrother^pamaury: yes. Any concerns about it?

20:57:27saratoga_is the system in a normal state in the panic handler, except that you don't know if the RAM is in a good state?
21:00
21:00:06bertrikI thought so
21:00:50bertrikthe clipv2 does indeed put A7 (power) high for some time, in order to read back the hold state through A3

23:13:39pamaurybluebrother^: no problem, it's just that I'm about to solve the dualboot problem but I guess that can wait the next release
23:14:02bluebrother^pamaury: that's great news!
23:15:27pamaurybluebrother^: the code needs a review but basically I wrote some coe that pack several files into the bootloader file, then I moved the dualboot code to tools/ so it's integrated into a scramble-like tool. Then mk*boot just need to unpack the different files and it's done. It works for mkimxboot and I'm still in the process of converting mkamsboot (more complicated)

23:30:34wodzbootloader for Mrobe500 is not automatically built and throws warning about unused variable.
23:34:29pamaurybertrik: not accidentally normally, I mean not if properly tested
23:35:17pamauryif you start to play with the bootloader file of course, you can do bad things
