One bug (at least I think)

F3 only turns on the status bar if it is already on in the settings
menu. As this button does not do anything normally, I think it should
turn on the status bar too.

Now a feature:

With all the function buttons doing more and more I think it would be
great to have their functions displayed on the bottom line. What I am
suggesting is use F3 to switch between 4 different modes:

status bar
menu bar
status bar and menu bar
no bars
