I believe EAC is a fairly good CD ripper. Otherwise I think any
ripper that uses cdparanoia would be a good choice.

MusicMatch sucks in many ways. Stay away from that crap.
I know that LAME tries to minimize the MP3-algorithm-induced gaps.
