Ah. Every full path uses 260 characters. Thus we can store 1.015 full paths in the settings sector. Forcing people to use the /.rockbox dir means we shrink the storage requirement to 10 bytes per file.

Why zillions? Just keep the ones you want to use as default. Beats having them spread out on the whole disk IMHO.

Why do you want boot-settings to be spread out over the disk? I don't get it.

We will support dynamic settings later (i.e. wps-per-dir, font-per-dir etc), but I can't fathom why it's painful keeping boot settings in one place.
