One thing I noticed was that in one of the previous releases of Rockbox, when I pressed next, the song contined to play wheil the next one was being read in, then the change to the new song was instant, rather than a few seconds of silence. I kinda prefered it that way.

  Useful, maybe, but it is a nightmare to implement. You would still
  experience delays if you press Next faster that the firmware can read
  the HD. The daily builds have faster FAT code, so the track changes
  are a little faster.
