I have the same problem as you. It works fine as long as I keep the ON
button pressed (or slightly pressed down, but not so far that it hit's
the contacts). I did not disassemble my unit. I thought it might be the
batteries, but from what you told, that's barely possible.
I can't really tell you how to go on, but if you find a solution, I'll
be very interested in it.
