I just cannot leave this alone.. eventhough I should get some
sleep..;)

I did some more testing.. I perform all actions below in sequence,
tried same sequence 5 times and got the same result every time;

record -->OK
record -->PANIC
restart
record-play file-record -->PANIC
restart
record-OFF/ON-play file-record -->OK
play file-OFF/ON-record -->OK
play file-ROLO same CVS-record --> OK
play file - record --> PANIC
