To All,

I was finally successful in building a release 1.4 version on my system.

system is as follows;

WIN2K
CYGWIN
binutils-2.11
gcc-3.0.4

It was NOT without problems along the way.
I thank Linus for his efforts.

Anyone with questions don't hesitate to ask.
