I'm quite convinced that is the only change needed, yes.

What errors did you get? You did use one of the make commands mentioned on
that page, right?

Also, note that you need a normal "native" compiler as well as you'll need to
compile and build the tools in the tools directory too.

Hard to tell without seeing the actual errors.

It is not up to us to decide. We can feed you with good ideas and
instructions, it is up to you what to make out of them and how far you're
prepared to go.
