We select to call it 'shuffle' for exactly this reason.

Rockbox does the way you say Winamp does above. It plays the songs randomly
but not again until all songs have been played.

We could possibly do that, but we've never had anyone request this before,
AFAIK! :-)

Also, "truly random" kills the resume and the next/prev functionality we have
so nicely today.
