Date: Fri, 10 Jan 2003 17:53:17 +0100 Thanks for the tip, that's a very interesting starting point. I'll use the AVR instead of the PIC for some reasons. First it has some communication possiilities that avoid the burden to delay the bits out. That is necessary for adding IR remote stuff. Then it's ASM code is better readable (more registers etc). And I think I need - guess what - more power! ;) (Also for IR and comm stuff). The device should be capable of bidirectional comm to act as experimental platform. Also building programmers is much easier with the AVRs. That's important for anybody who wants to build one himself. I think the 12V programming scheme is a bit complicated.
