I wrote a win32 command line utility w/source some time ago that uses
file timestamp information to synchronize subtrees from
win32 to the Archos drive: fcopy.exe. It won't re-copy
files that haven't changed (timestamp older and size same)
from a specified directory. It will automatically delete files
that have moved as well.
