All right, does anyone know if any of the 32 I/O lines on the SH-1 are unused?

If the I/O line can collect current that the LED will draw,
this could be a simple cut 'n jumper operation :-)

I like the blinking, that seems so much more advanced than just being on, I mean sheesh.
