Subject: Re: memory upgrade adaptor PCB
From: roland (for_spam_at_gmx.de)

Hi Dirk,

>Bundled with the PCB, but not soldered to it.
With the PCB I would have to solder every single point TWICE: DRAM -> PCB ->
Archos.
So I don`t see much advantage with that.

If PCB would come pre-soldered with DRAM, this would be a better advantage,
I think.

Do you really think 16MB could be possible?
This would really be great. (most of my mp3`s are >8MB - so it would be ONE
HDD spinup/spindown
per song.... or even less... :)
If 16MB PCB "RAM Upgrade Module" would become reality, I think I would pay a
maximum of ~40-50 ? for
that.

regards
Roland

find any at all. This would offer the opportunity to upgrade to 16MB (the
CPUs max DRAM support) and to provide a preassembled PCB. But don't expect
this to come true.
