Actually, I haven't tried it yet. Sorry. :-)
I think that the keys should reflect the GUI, so if the sliders are
horizontal, so should the key mapping. With this LCD, it is more
practical to use horizontal sliders because of the screen resolution.
I can't see how one could navigate the sound settings without looking at
the LCD anyway. When the user enters a menu/setup screen he does this to
change the sound parameters he can't change in the WPS. He has to look
at the screen to verify that he is changing the correct parameter.

Those devices have dedicated volume keys, don't they? So what is your point?
You can't compare a minidisc/discman player with the AJB. The AJB is so
much more than just a music player.
