i was using the stable 1.4 release =^)

but i suppose you could try an external encoder(like dibroms lame)
still cdex doesnt provide all of the options that eac does, and it
doesnt have "secure mode". so if you have a scratched cd, or it doesnt
rip well with cdex, try eac.
