But I do remember a guy who had the factory installed Li-ion pack in his Nomad Jukebox replaced free of charge. I don't know how Archos deals with this stuff. Then again, Nomad offers a user-installable battery pack (which is identical to the factory installed one) to add to the existing pack, doubling the runtime. I know _I_ wouldn't have bought an Archos if it didn't have user replacable batteries. ----- Original Message ----- From: Nix <nix_at_esperi.demon.co.uk> To: <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> Sent: Saturday, March 08, 2003 1:37 AM Subject: Re: Deep discharge | On Fri, 07 Mar 2003, Joris van den Heuvel mused: | > BTW it's a misconception to believe that Li-ion batteries are memory-effect | > free, and they seem to wear out faster than NiMHs. | | Which is why the li-ion battery in the FM Recorder is a weird custom | shape, and (as far as I can see) not available separately :( | | I don't really want to have to throw the entire thing away in a few | years just because the battery has aged, but it seems it may be | necessary :( | | (FM Recorder arriving next week; if it hadn't been for Rockbox, or at | least the possibility of firmware replacement and the promise of | improvement it holds out, I'd very probably not have got an Archos at | all.) | Received on 2003-03-09 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
