Subject: Re: SPDIF Fuction..again! Think this is it...
From: Gonz (gonzini_at_freenet.co.uk)

Hi, just got another mail from archos, they have explained how the socket is
wired!
I had a feeling it might of been something like this...

>The cable to do spdif recording in does not come with the package. The
user would need to get >a cable like that of the JBM which has a yellow RCA
jack on it which corresponds to the second >ring on the mini jack. Usually
with the three connectors, the bottom one is much wider than the >others and
that is the common or ground. The next two are for right and left (Red and
White). >In any case, for the connectors with a yellow RCA, the ground (wide
one) is split into two rings, >the bottom staying as common or ground and
then the second ring, a new ring is the data line >for the spdif.

l'll buy a 4 pole jackplug and make a lead up then post my results if
good.Looks like the FMs only got spdif in not in and out as
advertised......defo mod i think...
Some faith has been restored.
Cheers for your replies
Gonz
