Date: Fri, 25 Apr 2003 21:14:05 -0700 (PDT) Hi, I'm looking to buy a Microphone for my new Archos Jukebox FM Recorder. The built in mic is terrible and I'm a dunce about technical stuff like this. I keep reading where the Archos needs some kind of special microphone. I tried one junky lapel type (with a battery and on/off switch) at Radio Shack but it only recorded to the left channel (mono?) If it would have recorded on the left and right I would have bought it. I just want a semi decent microphone to record family history and also be able to use the mic with a cassette recorder also. Can anyone tell me if this particular Sony microphone will work well with the Archos? If not, does anyone know of another model of microphone similar in size and style to this Sony? Sony ECMDS70P http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00006HOLL/qid=1051329323/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/104-6888190-0664743 Info: Features: Unidirectional Electret Condenser stereo mic with clip, plug-in power operation Uni-directional Stereo Direct Connection to Recorder Reliable Electret Condenser Technology Gold Plated Plug Also: If built-in microphones aren't cutting it, pick up Sony's ECM-DS70P. This stereo microphone gives you increased audio quality when recording onto digital media, such as MiniDisc, DAT, & NT. Also, it's small size and light weight makes it easy to take with you. Plug-In Power Operation that requires no batteries Uni-directional Stereo Direct Connection to Recorder Reliable Electret Condenser Technology Gold Plated Plug Color: Gray Includes: 3.3ft. microphone cord and clip Weight: 3/8oz. ------------ Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
