Possibly, if you tell us what it does... :-)

No. The gdb stub is about 12 KB and so pushes the firmware well beyond the size barrier even with your patch. But we've stopped building the gdb versions. Everyone who uses them (me and linus) always build our own version from local code anyway, where we simply disable the games to make the stub fit.
