Subject: dir/file filtering
From: for_spam_at_gmx.de
Date: 2003-05-13

hi rockboxers!
regarding "system-directories" oder special files, any dumb OS creates
(Windoze and MacOS do)
and the existing "filtering" code in rockbox, it came to my mind, that the
following feature could be useful:

custom file/directory filter
------------------------------
a user could edit a file called ./rockbox/filter which is ordinary ascii
plaintext.
this file could contain directory/filenames (wildcard`ed or regex`d)
describing, which
dirs/files to hide.
This feature could be included in menu option "show files", so besides
"all","music", and
"supported" we would have another option "custom" there.

what do you think? should I open a feature request? *aaaargh - not another
one* :D

think of the flexibility this gives! just some mails "ago", someone
requested, that talkbox`s "directory
mp3`s" should be hideable - with this generic approach, this possibly just
would be an entry in ./rockbox/filter

open feature reqests No. 697733,697734 and 614433 could be replaced by this
feature request.

regards
roland
