Subject: RE: Archos firmware sound vs Rockbox
From: Binder, David (dbinder_at_rwjf.org)
Date: 2003-05-16

I don't know about any else, but did anyone notice that the volume he used
to test this was 88? 88????? I have an AJB6000 and if I have the volume over
70, it'll fry my ears!! Maybe that has something to do with rockbox handling
distortion (there gotta be distortion at 88 big time) vs how archos handles
distortion?

Just a (LOOOOUUUD) thought ;-)

You're maybe right, that Archos changes internally settings, but I don't
think that it is worth to spend much effort in to find out.
One has to use the right headphones anyway.
I think that this is not a problem at all (and I did not want to say that in
my previous post). The rockbox developers should not spend time in this
issue. It works and sounds wonderful, the way it is.

Many thanks to the rockbox team for all their great work that they are doing
for all of us.

André
