Yes, I agree.

this is different story, but here's a good
way to remember these:
Red=Right=Ring=Return, all starting with 'R'

And the Return is from XLR connector, which is:
pin 1 = X - Shield
pin 2 = L - Live (plus signal)
pin 3 = R - Return (minus signal)

So, if u want to make a XLR to plug adaptor, you usually
should connect Ring to pin 3 (return), maybe using red cable.
