hmmm...first time i've replyed to myself...

as i have nothing better to do, i decied to look around the archos site for info about the battery
warranty. i didn't find anything on the 'warranty' page, but on the FMR FAQ i found this:

Q: What kind batteries does my Jukebox FM Recorder use and how can I replace them?

A: The Archos Jukebox FM Recorder uses a factory installed Lithium Ion battery system. It has been
designed to last the life of the unit and should not require changing. However, should it be
determined that your unit contains defective batteries, Archos will replace your batteries. Please
contact technical support for further details.

this sounds like a lifetime warranty to me. the downside is you'll probably have to pay shipping
and be without an archos for a few weeks.
