Sorry, I misunderstood your needs.

I would recommend Exact Audio Copy (EAC), but it is a Windows program,
and you made a reference to using a friend's computer. Perhaps someone
else can recommend a *NIX or MAC solution (I missed anywhere you mention
your preferred platform)

Should you decide to go the Windows/EAC route, here's a pretty nifty and
hopefully non-confusing tutorial.

Another windows program that might be of use is CD Copy
http://www.cdcopy.sk/ It allows one to rip several tracks into one file.

Once you've done this, if you want to separate this big file into several
MP3s (that might or might NOT playback seamless depending on your
decoder) there is software called Split MP3

It respects the fact that MP3 data can overlap between frames (bit
reservoir) and "will split the MP3 "perfectly" without loss of any data"
