For lame, the flag is "--nores". That should minimize the editing problem to the extent posible for a given encoder. It will also result in a slight loss of fidelity. - I have heard variously that ABR and VBR mp3s have "no" or "minimal" use of the bit reservoir anyway. So if the problem is with a ABR or VBR file, I was probably wrong all along. spider Justin Heiner said: > Why must a mp3 always start with a space? that's not really true :-) > > > ---------- Original Message ---------- > To: (rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se) > From: Johan Vromans (jvromans_at_squirrel.nl) > Subject: Re: Trimming an MP3 file > Date: 6/21/2003 4:06:05p > >> "spidermagnet" <rokbokser_at_imtarget.cotse.net> writes: >> >> > Spider's Interpretations of http://lame.sourceforge.net/tech-FAQ.txt >> >> Nice, thanks. >> >> > Might I add that your response basically said "I don't want to >> understand the problem, I want somebody else to figure out how and >> tell >> me". >> It is more that I try to avoid reinventing the wheel when I feel that >> a trivial problem like this has probably been solved many times >> already.
