I see that same behavior with mine too except unlike
yours, mine requires a very hard press to on the
bumper to cause the power to be cut so it’s not a big
issue for me. You might want to try to verify that
the problem in not a bad trace on the lower battery
contact circuit board since any pressure on the top
left bumper is transferred directly through the
batteries to the lower circuit board. If I recall
correctly from when I had my unit opened up, the
bottom circuit board does nothing but complete the
circuit from the positive side of the left two
batteries to the negative side of the right two
batteries. If that is true, you could try bypassing
the lower circuit board traces with some sort of
jumper wire and see if that fixes the problem. Since
that’s a double sided circuit board, don’t take for
granted that any traces from one side (like the
battery + contact point) to the other side of the
board are good reliable connections.

In any case be sure to share any fix you discover
since this might be problem for me one day too.
