It's a short job of 5-20 minutes. You may get a friend who works at an
electronic mfg firm (Grumman?) to do it very well for free if they take it
to the repair dept. A good TV or HI-FI repair shop could do it for x$.

And I'm such a novice that I'm even having trouble taking the FM Recorder to
pieces :-)

Are they any reliable 3rd party repair shops around? I'm NYC based (though
the Archos is a UK model!)
