Well, I was driving while doing all these perhaps after 7 I could have
skipped 8... That's why I can't replicate the same thing perhaps.. I'll try
and let you know.

In step 8 you went back to WPS. However, after that, did you ever exit the
WPS (e.g. to the tree browser or settings menu)? There is an open issue
that resume info is not saved if you're not in the WPS.
