I went ahead and flashed it, it seems to be working for me as well (testing via the debug menu). I think it's a hardware based design to charge via USB port. By the way, flashing the rom is the greatest thing ever, it boots so quick now, almost like my Ipod.

        works for me, i left my FMR plugged into usb all day (accessing it very rarely) and it managed to
        stay at 100%
