Your tip looked very promising to me!
I jumpered "cable select" and grounded pin 28 - but no luck yet.
I also tried jumpering "slave" - still no spinup.

Strange thing: pin 42 (+5V_MOTOR and the answer to anything) _IS_ +5.0V

...but I'm far from giving up...hehe.
