I mucked around a bit on the opensouce forum and found this list of
future features. Looks like it has a way to go, but it should quickly
surpass what Archos has put out.

It is just so unfortunate that we don't have the support from Archos
like these guys do. Notice the wma, ogg, wav recording that they can
do? All because _their_ hardware company actually acknowledges them!
oh, and USB 2.0 isn't an option right now. They had a deal that if you
bought a 1.1 device now before Sept 30, you will get a free replacement
unit with USB 2.0 in October when it shows. However that was revoked
and made August 30th. Guess people have no choice now but to wait
until the USB 2.0 version shows up to buy it.
Hope this clears up a little bit.

Nomad Jukebox Zen NX
the 20G is $250 at bestbuy and that makes it about the same price range.
This is the second generation of Zen and improvements are fairly numerous
(like the replaceable/swapable battery) for something Creative didn't do
too badly with on their first shot. As always, Notmad Explorer is a
necessary investment to avoid the heinous software that Creative tries to
force on you. I bought it for my Nomad IIc and deleted the supplied
monstrosity after about 5 min. of use.
Does this unit have any audio book features like "resume" and book marking?
About 90% of my listening is non-music so that is essential. Does this unit
mount as a USB hard drive like the Archos?
I think Rockbox is going to end up being essential so I'm going to be limited
to Archo products.
Thanks,
John
