why don't YOU strip out the audio? anyway, the audio in avi files is often mp3, not mpeg-1 or 2 files.

i don't think the archos' cpu is fast enough to be able to take out the audio in real time.

  Subject: MPEG extraction?

Just out of curiosity... the MP3 decoder hardware... would it be possible to say, write a plugin that would go through an MPEG movie file and strip out the video part and send the audio part to the decoder?

Kinda like, for music videos.... 'cause some of them have audio encoded by MPEG-3

BTW-did anyone else get like a bunch of mail which are copies from several weeks ago?
