Hi again,
I just tried running fsck. When mounted, it gives me:
-------------
linux:/home/markus # fsck.msdos -f -r -v -t /dev/sda1
dosfsck 2.8 (28 Feb 2001)
dosfsck 2.8, 28 Feb 2001, FAT32, LFN
Warning: FAT32 support is still ALPHA.
Boot sector contents:
System ID "MSDOS5.0"
Media byte 0xf8 (hard disk)
512 bytes per logical sector
4096 bytes per cluster
34 reserved sectors
First FAT starts at byte 17408 (sector 34)
2 FATs, 32 bit entries
5852672 bytes per FAT (= 11431 sectors)
Root directory start at cluster 2 (arbitrary size)
Data area starts at byte 11722752 (sector 22896)
1463061 data clusters (1697730560 bytes)
63 sectors/track, 255 heads
63 hidden sectors
11727387 sectors total
/
Cluster 0 (2) is unreadable. Skipping it.
Internal error: next_cluster on bad cluster
-----------
Unmounted I get:
-----------
linux:/home/markus # fsck.msdos -f -r -v -t /dev/sda1
dosfsck 2.8 (28 Feb 2001)

Got 5815808 bytes instead of 5852252 at 5870080
------------
This looks like fsck is not able to repair the disc?! Judging from google
results,
there also seems to be a lack of good fat32 scanners for Linux...
Any ideas?
Thanks again!
