Quite right, and thanks for preventing a potentially embarassing and
dangerous scene!

Which brings me to my intial question--What type of charger should I get
to recharge the unit since my US charger doesn't work in Europe.

If you are unsure what you are doing, I would recommend not playing with
the liion battery in the FM, since explosions mnay occur if you get it
wrong. The FM units have a charging control chip to avoid this
situation.
