Am I right ? > the shutdown after 1-2 seconds, the register error and the tactactac sound > familar to me. > let me guess: the tactactac goes in sync with flickering of the lcd > backlight, right? (btw: even the charger usually doesn`t deliver enough > power for permanent "running" of the jukebox. so big datatransfers and > long-lasting-operations like defrag _can_ be problematic - at least with my > car adapter this happens quite often and gives me the typical "tactactac" > on startup) 2) Ok, this is exactly what I get... But, I must say i had charged the batteries before booting... The led indicated the batteries were full. Does the malfunction you suggested implicate my issue keeps affecting the JB eventhough ? 3) As I've been writing to archos, they said nothing about the battery issue. How did you discover this was the problem ? 4) As I've initiated the disk format, the operation failed with the disk making a louder "tactactac" noise. Does this mean my HD is down, or, may I expect the batteries changing will solve everything (after formatting, again) ? 5) As I suppose you solved the problem changing the batteries, did you do it yourself, or did you send it to your retailer ? If you did it yourself, what kind of batteries did you use ? Same as original or others ? 6) Sorry for asking so much ;) tx or everything > > roland > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "mielpop" <mielpop_at_free.fr> > To: <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> > Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2003 12:36 PM > Subject: Hd failure on recorder 20 > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I have encountered the following problem recently : > > > > I was trying to acces my archos recorder 20 with linux mandrake 9.1.
