Price comparison is not fair if you think these gadgets... Things change
very fast. What is a "1st generation ipod" would cost at the same time you
bought Archos?

I bought my digital camera 3 years ago for $900, 3.3 mpixel, point and
shoot, fair picture quality
Now canon has a digital SLR 6.3 mp for $999 with lens, excellent picture
quality..

I don't know what they did but I think 110$ is a lot of money.


Well, Linus thinks it a short: a short-circuit somewhere on the circuit
board or the board's connection to the chassis.

The cost to fix (by newmp3technology.com) was $100, postage and insurance
was $9.05.

Basically, I don't solder, and I didn't want to learn on my Archos. ;)
