the 'great battery shootout' (see google) and can be had for a little

$1USD each. The really good ones have always been the powerex cells by
Maha
(not to be confused with powerizer, a lousy brand). Powerex are
expensive
but are regarded as 'the best'. Some of the other good brands found at
the
great battery shootout are not readily available in the USA.

        Thanks for all this good info. Do you know where one can get
these for slightly more than $1? All I can find are prices like $2 a
battery. When buying a few, this makes a difference.
