Agreed, but being less mechanically inclined than you, I'd want to see their
source for low-level hardware interaction routines.

The thing is we don't actually need their source. We just need
documentation/information.

I actually wouldn't want to use their source even if they did give it away
(other than as documentation). It's too messy to merge a completely
different design, and there would probably be hairy licensing problems too.

Schematics/docs, however, are pure gold.
