It is quite cold here in Baltimore today. I am fortunate to have such a
warm thread available to bring some heat into my home. =)

As long as we are discussing CD ripping and error correction, I thought
I might pose a question. CDEX has done a fine job for me with almost all
of the CD's I've thrown at it; I occasionally encounter one that has
problems, and I tried using EAC to see if I could get a clean rip out of
those CDs. I have one CD that just won't rip well, although it plays
fine in any audio player, home, auto, portable, what have you. The
ripped
tracks are full of pops/clicks/gaps/etc. to some degree or another,
except for the two that are listed as "OK" in the log below. I went so
far as to request a replacement, thinking it was just a bad copy, only
to find the exact same problems with the replacement disc. (I have both
CD's, so I didn't just get the original back, repackaged!) I've appended
the EAC log below with all the technical details. My questions are:

1) Is there some combination of EAC settings that might work better than
what I had selected to overcome problems like these?

2) Does anyone with some recording industry/production experience know
what might have gone wrong to make a whole pressing go "bad" like this?
I find it hard to believe that I just managed to get two bad copies in a
row - I'd have to assume the whole batch was bad.

Note that I've also tried ripping on three different PC's with different
drives - no improvement there, either.
