Hi Chris

Just to point out that Zip, JPG and GIF files can still be harmful. In fact any kind of attachment can contain a virus especially on a Windoze system since it is possible to double tag a filetype for example you could have a file that says readme.txt.exe

Best protection is to ensure you always have an up to date virus checker installed.

Regards

John

Opening an attachment is only harmful if;
1) it is somethings that is executable
This is .exe, .bat, .vbs, .scr, etc.
2) and it is malicious.

Things like .jpg, .gif, .txt, .zip, etc.
are not harmful.
