Subject: Hard drive error help!

Hard drive error help!

From: Doug Mannon <dsmannon_at_kcbx.net>

I'm a newbie here, and have little programming knowledge.
What I saw and heard of Rockbox was great, but I immediately
started having problems.

I installed Rockbox on my Jukebox Fm Recorder. I did not
change the flash. It worked at first, was able to navigate
and change menu settings (volume, bass, etc.) and listen .
It stopped during a playback, and ever since, I get 'Hard
drive error Please check HD' on startup. It will only enter
USB mode with F1 pressed. Sometimes I get:
HD register error
SC1 (85) 227
SH1 (170) 0
SC2 (170) 18
SN2 (85) 211
Sometimes this will stay, other times (or if I push F1)the
last column of numbers will all change to 128.

I tried deleting rockbox files and going back to archos'
ajbrec.ajz, tried reinstalling rockbox, and I tried the
latest rockbox daily build. Ran a disk scan on it last
night, no errors. It seems to hang about a third of the way
through boot, then goes to the HD error or registry error
message. Also, looking at it in USB, there are two folders
at the root level (prior to installing rockbox), _Restore
and System Volume Information (which has two _restore
folders in it, each with what looks like a bracketed hex
number following it). Is that normal?

Thanks in advance,
Doug
