Date: Thu, 12 Feb 2004 15:32:06 +0100 or your battery died. The power cord can't provide enough energy at sart iirc, if you own a "classic" jukebox, you can check the bettries (cheaper than a hd !), for v2/fm I can't say... but you can get a 2" HD adaptor and test you disk on a PC. For flashed boxes, there is a trick holding F1 while plugging-in the power/the USB, check the mail archive. Good luck Nicolas -----Message d'origine----- De : Matthew Daubenspeck [mailto:matt_at_oddprocess.org] Envoyé : jeudi 12 février 2004 15:13 À : rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se Objet : Dead archos I tried turning on my Archos last night, and for the most part, it's dead. If I turn it on without the power connected, it just locks at the Loading Firmware screen. If I start it without the power, it turns on, the screen light dims, and then the unit shuts off completely. Otherwise, when the power was connected, the unit was making a terrble clicking/grinding nose. I am assuming the drive is dead. Any ideas on a specific drive I should use to replace it? With newer 20GB models selling so cheap, it might be better off to just buy a replacement...
