I have the 2.1 version, but those steps did not work.
It is weird, it powers down in about 5 seconds after each arrow selection.
I did not understand why I would go down 3 times and up 1 , why not down 2
times?
But I did follow the steps exactly twice.
I even tried the play key before going up as well, but neither method
worked.
Maybe it would be easier if someone sent their custom CFG file my way.

in version 2.1:

F1, down (2), right, down (3), up, right, up, right, f2

this should create /.rockbox/config00.cfg
