Date: Thu, 1 Apr 2004 13:52:13 +0200 (MEST) Several people have asked if we should better use a different extension for the current ".dirname.mp3" files, to avoid them getting treated like regular mp3s in whatever actions. I'd like to hear some opinions about it, whether this is too established already, or if we can/should change it. The Rockbox and TTS script part of it is quickly done. But existing users will have to mass-rename their files, or re-generate them. Jörg PS: Below some more comment to the posting: > Are we sticking with the dirname.mp3 thing? IMHO it should at least not be > called .mp3 (so it doesnt turn up in playlists etc), maybe .tbx or > something? > > ideally from my point of view, all dirnames would be stored in one file in > .rockbox (just like the voice 'font' for menus). > > That way, those .dirname.mp3's will not get in the way :) I don't like to move the clips out of their directories. It easily gets inconsistant, if you move or delete directories. And this big index would always need to be searched. -- +++ NEU bei GMX und erstmalig in Deutschland: TÜV-geprüfter Virenschutz +++ 100% Virenerkennung nach Wildlist.
