rockbox v2 recorder usb graphic question..

I have seen a small bold usb graphic when plugging
in the v2 to my usb2.0 port.

I have also seen a boxed typed hollow usb graphic
when my v2 is plugged into my usb 2.0 port.

What is the difference in the graphics..
why the change?

also, my usb device wasn't recognized yesterday
till I rebooted my pc and also the rockbox a few
times.. could my cord be going bad?
