I've had a look at the schematic. I am still wondering how it works...

if ibus is driven low, the remote is driven low
but if the remote is driven low, the ibus is driven low also. it is a
loopback...

If I understood correctly, it is R7 that prevents a deadlock by driving
the remote pin low but not too much...
Could you confirm?
